My Favorite Podcasts for Social Media Tips, Digital Marketing Info, Mindset, and Entertainment
Yup, I’m one of those people. The podcast obsessed ones. But I’m not over here listening to True Crime or Murder Mysteries (I like to sleep at night and not lie awake in fear!!), what really fires me up are motivational business podcasts and podcasts that I can LEARN something from. I’m all about the actionable takeaways. With that being said I’m going to lay down all my favorite podcasts in this blog and tell you just exactly why I love them! I hope you can find one or two that really peak your interest and then I’d recommend scrolling through till you find an episode that looks good and giving it a listen!
DIGITAL MARKETING PODCASTS
(Tips for social media and online businesses)
Stevie is a lovely Aussie straight from down under who brings all the Instagram, Facebook and personal branding tips with a hint of sarcasm. She covers everything from the basics to more in depth content and mixes in interviews when necessary to dive deeper on topics that aren’t maybe 100% in her wheelhouse. Love her!
Amy Porterfield, where can I even begin. Amy is so incredibly talented, generous, and intelligent. She breaks down her episodes into a step-by-step structure, squeezes the most she can out of interviews, and always always gives so much value. She covers everything from podcasting to webinars, course launches and social media. Her episodes never disappoint. I look up to her most out of anyone I’ve come across in this space hands down, and she is the only person I’ve ever bought a course from, Amy is my girl.
Although the name might not indicate it the Goal Digger podcast focuses entirely around using social media to build your business. Jenna is a pro wedding photographer turned social media guru and her podcast is a great place to start for the basics! I have to admit sometimes I feel like I’ve outgrown her episodes but I still like to listen in for a refresher! Instagram newbies start here!
The GaryVee Audio Experience could fall under social media, motivation and business he talks about it all. I really thrive off of a tough love attitude and Gary V brings it hard. He is so good at putting everything into perspective that you immediately wonder how you ever complained ever. You realize your life is so damn good and then you want to cry at the thought of dying because you realize how lucky you are to be alive. If you’ve heard the rumours that Gary V says the same shit over and over they are absolutely true! He constantly talks about working for what you want, doing what makes you happy and being kind. No matter how many times he says it I keep going back for more because it’s always a good reminder. He isn’t for the faint of heart but if you can handle having your bullshit laid out in front of you you’ll love him too.
Rick Mulready is the guy for Facebook ads. I’d recommend going back through his episodes and picking out some of the core stuff that isn’t too too old since the platform does change a lot. Then you HAVE to start practicing. Facebook ads aren’t actually super complicated they are just really time consuming. If you have anything to sell online or just want to grow your audience they are definitely worth learning more about. So check out the Art of Paid Traffic for learning more about facebook and Instagram ads!
Michael Stelzner is the OG social media marketing guy. He and his team keep their fingers on the pulse of social media, how it’s evolving and what it means for businesses. Tons of good episodes there and he interviews big names in the business.
ICYMI I have a podcast! It’s called Girl Meets Gram and we cover not just Instagram but all things social media, influencer marketing and digital marketing. I keep my episodes short, sweet and straight to the point. I talk fast and give it to you straight so that you can have an actionable takeaways in the 10 minutes it takes to get home from the grocery store
INFLUENCER MARKETING PODCASTS
Julie Solomon has a really successful background in PR which gives her a super unique perspective on Influencer marketing. She teaches thousands of women and bloggers how to leverage their audience and land brand deals. She’s like the Mom of all Influencers - kind and maternal but sometimes stern.
If Julie Solomon is the Mom of the Influencer industry, then James Nord is the quirky uncle. His self deprecating demeanour lends perfectly to his real and honest discussions about Influencer marketing. James calls the bullshit and sugar coats nothing while still giving great takeaways and hosting valuable interviews.
MINDSET + MOTIVATION PODCASTS
James Wedmore loves to talk about mindset while also weaving in online marketing discussions. Think everything from episodes about ‘The Law of Attraction’ to ‘How to Prevent Your Business From Crashing Down’, and ‘The Real Secret to Being Your Best Self’ to ‘How to Save a Failed Launch’. You can see he has a mix of mindset and business.
Lewis Howes is also amazing for mindset conversations. He is definitely more gentle than Gary V and always leaves me wanting to be better and do more.
Georgie Morley is the sweetest thing, she resides in a cute cabin on Nantukut Island doing her content creation thing. Her podcast strives to cover vulnerable topics like eating disorders, depression, and mental health in a digestible way that makes you ponder thoughtfully about society and our actions. She gently coaches her audience, as she learns for herself, how to be more aware of ourselves, others and even the planet.
Jess’s episodes are all the woo-woo you could want and more. She dives deep on self awareness and makes it all seem so obvious that you feel like your soul is detached from your body, your mind and ego are clearly separate and we are all simply the energy of stars wondering around Earth. Yeah woo woo. But I like that stuff sometimes you know?
I don’t like to waste time. I’m a bit of a hyper-productive human so even listening to music usually feels like a treat because I feel like I should be listening to a podcast that I can learn something from. Crazy Type A much? I know. But every once in a while when my brain is dead or I’m feeling crazy I listening to a podcast that’s more on the entertainment side.
This podcast is hosted by Husband and Wife Michael Bostik and Lauren Everats bosstick. And as much as it’s in my entertainment category I’ve definitely learned a lot from them, just not information that is necessarily applicable to my business. They interview everyone from Shamans to Sex Workers and Doctors to Reality TV stars. Lauren absolutely grinds her guests for information and specifics so if the title of the episode speaks to you, you know you’ll have your questions answered by the end.
Jackie is blunt, incredibly sarcastic and harsh enough to make me cringe sometimes. Her episodes are..well honestly negative but pretty funny and discuss sex, millennials, and pop culture. Everything is unfiltered and nothing is off limits. Buckle up for Jackie, she a whirlwind.
These to 20-something females keep is real, and bring value to their audience by interviewing a wide spectrum of guests covering topics from Building Your Dream Business to Addiction and Meditation to Astrological Cycles. They have really cool guests and I’d definitely recommend picking out a few episodes that look interesting!
Are you overwhelmed with this long list?! If I HAD to narrow it down to three I would go with The GarvyVee audio Experience, Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield and…oh this is so hard..Girl Meets Gram! Jk that’s mine so I guess it would be a Drink with James. I’m not saying these are the best or will suit your need but those are my top top choices!
